The Oxford Film Festival has announced their partnership with Los Angeles-based management production company Cundiff & Company, in an effort to bring quality industry exposure to participants in the festival.

The grand-prize winners in Feature Narrative, Short Narrative, Feature Documentary, and Short Documentary will all have their films reviewed by the agency.

“It’s an awesome way for us to see great film projects from all over” Jimmy Cundiff, a former William Morris agent and founder of Cundiff & Company, said. “Getting a look at the top films from the Oxford Film Festival is a fantastic chance for us to meet undiscovered talent.”

Micah Ginn, a co-director of the festival, emphasized the importance of strong industry ties for the Oxford Film Festival.

“What we strive for here is to create opportunities for the filmmakers,” Ginn said. “We have some incredible films screen here and it is critical that we provide an atmosphere for talented filmmakers to have every break possible to continue growing their careers.”

“This is a huge part of why we exist,” Executive Director Molly Fergusson said.  “Film can entertain, educate, advocate…it can have such a wonderful impact…and as much as we like bringing films and filmmakers to Oxford so that our community and region can enjoy them, we also want to make sure when the filmmakers leave here that we’ve helped them.  It’s a major part of our mission, and having Cundiff & Company working toward that goal with us is very exciting.”

The festival will be held February 10-13, 2011 this year and includes over 75 films, a variety of panels including the popular Speed Pitch Panel, and numerous parties where filmmakers can mingle.

A great day with the Kid’s Filmmaking Workshop!

A great day with the Kid’s Filmmaking Workshop!

No Comments 27 May 2010

This past Saturday, the Oxford Film Festival’s Kid’s Filmmaking Workshop went off with flying colors.  The event was hosted by the Boys & Girls Club of Oxford, with many of their members taking part in the production, as well as non-members from the community.  The children worked with local filmmakers Nitin and Deepak Mantena, of Celery Studios, in the creation of a short film which will have it’s debut later this summer.  Everyone had a great time, and we look forward to doing this again soon!

The workshop was sponsored by OFF, Media & Documentary Projects, YAC, Papa John’s Pizza, The Downtown Oxford Inn, and Rock Star Taxi & Limo.
