Our Mission

OxFilm celebrates the art of independent cinema. Through year-round programming, the festival works to encourage filmmaking in Oxford and North Mississippi as part of the global film community, while cultivating audience appreciation of cinema through screenings, workshops and educational programs that culminate in the annual festival.

Oxford Film Festival Code of Conduct

The Oxford Film Festival celebrates film, the range of stories that can be shared through film, and the diversity of audience members and creators that love films. As a community film festival we strive to provide a safe and harassment-free experience for EVERYONE, in which participants can experience a variety of films and events that inspire, engage, and promote constructive dialogue.

To that end, the Oxford Film Festival reserves the right to revoke admission privileges to any patrons who exhibit behavior that is disruptive to the operation of the festival or which infringes on the ability of other patrons to enjoy the festival.

If you have any concerns, please know that those wearing a STAFF t-shirt or badge are happy to assist you in anyway. You can always reach us at anytime at info@oxfordfilmfest.com.

Chickasaw Land Agreement

The Oxford Film Festival recognizes the traditional lands of the Chickasaw. Early in the 19th century, the Chickasaw inhabited the area that is now the City of Oxford. This changed on February 9, 1836 with the Chickasaw Indian Cession, a treaty that instigated the removal of most of the Indians in North Mississippi. Read more here about the Sacred Mounds in Mississippi and learn about modern Chickasaw culture here.
